Things are heating up on Grey's Anatomy… literally.

The new Grey's Anatomy Season 13, episode 24 promo has us on the edge of our seats! It looks like in next week's episode — titled "Ring of Fire" — doctors and patients alike will be in danger from an explosion in the hospital. In the video, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) desperately tries to find a terrified little girl who is lost somewhere in the hospital.

But, Mer isn't the only doctor whose life is at risk from the emergency at Grey Sloan Memorial. In the clip, Ben Warren (Jason George) rushes into the burning hospital while Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) frantically searches for Stephanie Edwards (Jerrika Hinton).

Last night's episode ended with Stephanie hiding with the now-missing little girl moments before the explosion. Since we know actress Jerrika is exiting the series after this season, it's not a matter of if she'll leave, but how she'll leave. She could already be dead after last night's final scene, but fans know how creator Shonda Rhimes loves a good bait-and-switch.

Let's not forget that fans once thought Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) died in the Season 5 finale from cancer. Instead, George O'Malley (T.R. Knight) was revealed to be dead in the Season 6 premiere after being hit by a bus. I mean, no one saw that coming. For all we know, Stephanie could have survived the explosion and will choose to end her surgical residency at the hospital while she recovers from her third-degree burns. Hey, it's possible!

Executive producer Debbie Allen already admitted that this season's finale will end with a cliffhanger — so, no matter what, prepare to be left in suspense.

"There's actually two events going on at the same time that are pretty big that affect the entire hospital community," she revealed. "You should be worried. There's cause for worry. There's an amazing cliffhanger that will have everybody thinking, 'Wow, where is this going?!'"

We can't wait to see how it'll end! Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
