After 14 seasons, original Grey’s Anatomy surgeons Meredith Grey and Alex Karev are at the top of their game. Grey Sloan Memorial’s newest recruits? Not so much, as we see in the new web series, Grey’s Anatomy: B-Team!

The six-episode series, directed by Grey’s star Sarah Drew, follows the latest batch of interns as they get their footing at the hospital. That means we’ll get better acquainted with DeLuca’s ex Samantha “Sam” Bello (played by So You Think You Can Dance alum Jeanine Mason), Jo’s one-night-stand Levi Schmitt aka “Glasses” (Jake Borelli), and their cohorts Dahlia Qadri (Sophia Taylor Ali), Casey Parker (Alex Blue Davis), Taryn Helm (Jaicy Elliot), and Vik Roy (Rushi Kota).

Of course, we’ll also see Grey’s mainstays on the show, including Miranda Bailey, Alex, Maggie Pierce, Owen Hunt, and Richard Webber. (We fully expect the young guns to totally annoy these senior colleagues!)

The ABC hit has spun off web series’ twice before. Season 6’s Grey’s Anatomy: On Call got us familiar with the new faces from the Mercy West merger, and Season 7’s Grey’s Anatomy: A Message of Hope saw Richard trying to organize a TV commercial for the hospital in the wake of the mass shooting.

B-Team should be a fun watch, but the bigger Grey’s spin-off these days is the still-untitled Seattle firefighter drama, which will premiere in March. Dr. Ben Warren, who’s been jazzed about firefighting since Season 13’s blaze, is moving from Grey’s to that show, joining all-new characters we’ll meet later this season. In the meantime, Grey’s Anatomy: B-Team debuts on ABC.com and the ABC app on Thursday, Jan. 11, a week ahead of Grey’s Anatomy Season 14’s return on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 8 p.m. ET.
