Did You Know Gregg Allman and Cher Have a Son Together? Meet Elijah Blue Allman!

Did you know Cher and Gregg Allman have a child together? Cher and the Allman Brothers Band singer/songwriter — who sadly died at age 69 from complications of liver cancer in May 2017 — welcomed their son, Elijah Blue Allman, in July 1976. Today, Elijah is a super successful musician, just like his very famous parents!

Elijah — known professionally as Elijah Blue or P. Exeter Blue — is most recognized for being the lead singer and guitarist of the band Deadsy. The California heavy metal group was founded in 1995 by Elijah and two other original members, Alec Püre (real name: Alec Puro) and Dr. Nner (real name: Renn McDonnell Hawkey).

Deadsy has released three albums: Deadsy (1997), Commencement (2002), and Phantasmagore (2006). In 2007, the band unfortunately announced they were taking an indefinite hiatus. Elijah has since released music through the group Elijah Blue and the Trapezoids.

Though Elijah has worked hard to differentiate himself from his music-icon parents, both his mom, Cher, and late dad, Gregg, inspired his desire to be a musician.

According to the Huffington Post, Elijah was given his first guitar by KISS bassist Gene Simmons and he went on tour with Cher starting at age 13. He once appeared as a guitarist in his mother’s music video for “If I Could Turn Back Time” and auditioned to be a Nine Inch Nails bandmate but lost out on the gig.

Through is parents’ other marriages, Elijah is a half-brother to Chaz Bono, Delilah Allman, Michael Allman, Layla Allman, and Devon Allman. While Elijah and Chaz grew up together, the brothers have since drifted apart.

“We were close. I think what happened was Chaz went off to a performing arts school back east and I went off back east as well, later to prep school, and so from there we kind of took different paths,” Elijah told Entertainment Tonight in 2014. “But for a minute growing up we were kind of close, yeah … we kind of grew apart when we started going to different schools and just not being geographically around each other.”

On December 1, 2013, Elijah tied the knot with Marieangela “Queenie” King, who is known for being a member of the band KING and the sister of Jazzy King and Ruby King from the British pop duo Blonde Electra.

Before Elijah married Queenie, he dated famous Hollywood stars including Bijou Phillips, Heather Graham, Kate Hudson, and Nicole Richie, just to name a few.
