We’re thinking of you, Goldie Hawn. The 71-year-old actress took to Instagram earlier this week to reveal one of her closest friends has sadly died. “My best friend has passed. Please treasure each other. Best friends get us through. Blessings to all this Sunday,” Goldie captioned a vintage, black and white photo of herself posing with her unidentified friend.

“I’m so very sorry for your loss,” one of the Overboard star’s 1.1 million followers commented on the pic, which was posted on Sunday, Aug. 6. “I’m sure your smile, your laugh, and your love filled a special place in her heart,” another fan wrote. This interestingly isn’t the first time Goldie has paid tribute to a special person in her life via her Instagram page. Back in December 2016, the mom-of-three remembered her late mother, Laura Hawn, on what was both her birthday and the anniversary of her death.

“Today was my mother’s birthday. Her love lives on. She was the real star. #ForeverAndEver,” Goldie captioned a vintage photo of Laura. The Oscar winner’s mother was born on Nov. 27, 1913, and passed away at age 80 on Nov. 27, 1993.

Despite the tragic death of her best friend, 2017 has thus far been a celebratory year for Goldie. In early May, the actress and her longtime love, Kurt Russell, both received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “Goldie to you, I owe my wonderful life,” Kurt, 66, said during the ceremony. “Simply put Goldie, I cherish you. All of the stars in the sky or the boulevard don’t hold a candle to that.”

Later that same month, Goldie returned to the big screen for the first time in 15 years with her latest movie, Snatched. “A break from anything we do sometimes is a good thing, [but] I forgot how much fun [acting] was. I came out going, ‘I could do it again!'” Goldie recently said of her Hollywood hiatus.
