Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell Continue to Prove They’re the Perfect Couple in New Pics

Kurt once revealed that he and Goldie have been able to stay a team for 35 years after they both made an important decision. “[We] were very aware of what would happen had we both pursued our careers full-on,” he once told Daily Mail. “I very rarely worked when I knew Goldie was going to be working. And vice-versa. Which meant we could be together.” He added, “I never thought that what the business could provide would ever take precedence over us. Money is great, but you’ve got to say no. You really do.”

Kurt also revealed to the outlet that he once turned down a big-time role to stay home with his children. “For Goldie and me, that core value was this: the kids come first. That big movie I turned down came at an age when they really needed one of us around.” He continued, “Kate was a very sparky personality, a fun girl, great. But when you’re a teenager you need Dad to be there, to say you’re going to be home at 11:30. I think as a parent you have to be an obstacle at times, so they can learn to get around you. If they learn to get around you, they can get around most troubles.”

While the lovely pair have plenty of memories together, the Hateful Eight costar still recalls his first date with his love, which was at the Playboy Club in LA as the pair had to rehearse for a dance scene for 1984’s Swing Shift.

“Two hours later, we were still talking — we hadn’t danced at all. I was living at my brother-in-law’s house, and she had this home that was being remodeled, so we went there,” Kurt recalled during a TV appearance on Live! With Kelly and Ryan. “Suddenly, there were flashlights around the room,” he said of security guards, who mistook the pair for intruders …

Kurt continued, “We were like, ‘Guys, get out of here — it’s her house!’ It was a lot of fun, I’ll tell you that. I just can’t believe it was that long ago.”
