Back in February 2007, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen had just been dating for two months when Tom’s ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan surprised the world by announcing she was pregnant with his child. At the time, fans were obsessed with the story — but how did Gisele feel about the whole thing? Lucky for us, we now know!
“The very next day the news was everywhere, and I felt my world had been turned upside down,” the 38-year-old model wrote in her new book, Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, according to the Daily Mail.
Tom, 41, dated Bridget, 47, for three years before they called it quits on their Hollywood romance in December 2006. Then, two months later, Bridget revealed she was pregnant with her now 11-year-old son, Jack Edward Thomas Moynahan. And, at the time, Tom and Gisele were a brand new couple.
Though Gisele admitted it “wasn’t an easy time” for the duo, she recognized that Tom “especially” needed support and the two decided to stay together. Today, Gisele confessed that her stepson, Jack, was a blessing because it encouraged her and Tom to have their two children shortly after Jack’s birth so all the kids could be close in age.
“[Jack helped my] heart expand in ways I didn’t know was possible,” Gisele said, adding that she lovigly calls him her “bonus child.” The proud mom also shared that Jack “takes his older-brother status seriously” with his two younger siblings, Benjamin Brady, 8, and Vivian Lake Brady, 5.
The Brazillian beauty additionally shared that all three Brady kids are learning to be fluent in her native language, Portugese. “[Jack is speaking it] more and more,” Gisele said adding that his accent is “so cute.”
