Margaret Thatcher is allegedly coming to The Crown! According to multiple reports, Gillian Anderson has joined the show’s Season 4 cast to play the famed British Prime Minister. The Hollywood Reporter further revealed on Monday, January 21 that Gillian, 50, has been in talks with the streaming service since April 2018 to play Margaret — who passed away at age 87 in April 2013 — but her Netflix deal has yet to be finalized. It is unclear at this time if Gillian will only appear in Season 4 or also play Britain’s first female Prime Minister in this year’s upcoming Season 3 as well.

The X-Files star’s rumored casting is just the latest The Crown news to recently hit the internet. In late October 2018, it was revealed that Call the Midwife actress Emerald Fennell had signed on to portray Prince Charles‘ wife Camilla Parker-Bowles in the newest season, which takes place in the mid-1960s.

“I’m absolutely over the moon, and completely terrified, to be joining so many hugely talented people on The Crown,” Emerald, 33, said in a statement released via The Crown‘s official Twitter account last fall. “I absolutely love Camilla and am very grateful that my teenage years have well prepared me for playing a chain-smoking serial snogger with a pudding bowl haircut.”

Netflix previously revealed that 28-year-old actor Josh O’Connor will portray Prince Charles on Season 3. “I am thrilled to be joining the firm for the next installment of The Crown. Seasons 3 and 4 will follow some of the most turbulent events in the Prince of Wales’ life and our national story and I’m excited to be bringing to life the man in the midst of it all. I’m very aware it’s a formidably talented family to be joining, but reliably informed I have the ears for the part and will fit right in,” Josh said in a statement.
