George Clooney Opens up About Wife Amal Clooney’s Pregnancy for the First Time: “We Are Really Happy and Really Excited”

George Clooney is ready to be a dad!

For the first time since the news broke that he and Amal Clooney are expecting twins, the A-list actor has opened up about his wife‘s pregnancy — and made a sweet confession in the process!

“We are really happy and really excited. It’s going to be an adventure,” he gushed during a new interview on Rencontres de Cinema. “We’ve sort of embraced it all… with arms wide open.”

In Touch Weekly previously revealed Amal and George were expecting their first children together back on Jan. 18. “Amal is pregnant with twins: a boy and a girl,” an insider close to the lawyer told the magazine. “When George and Amal found out it was twins they were surprised, but also a little scared because they both had said that one was enough.”

George, 55, also opened up about how his friends reacted to the baby news. “It got really quiet,” he recalled. “And they all just started making baby crying noises, and the whole table just busted up laughing.”

He additonally got candid about being an older father, since many of his acquaintances have kids that are already in college. The actor just looks up to stars like Jean-Paul Belmondo, who welcomed a child with his wife when he was 70-years-old.

“So, I’m feeling a little better about being 56 by the time [the twins come],” George laughed.

Sources previously revealed to In Touch how the Money Monster star is “over the moon” to welcome his son and daughter.

“He’s gone from never wanting to be a father to being totally excited about the pregnancy and the thought of raising two children who will call him Dad,” an insider revealed to the news outlet. “He’s been doting on Amal’s every need and talking to her belly. He’s also having a blast coming up with baby names.”
