George Clooney Reveals How He Celebrated His Birthday With Amal — and the Gift He Got From His Kids!
Well that’s one way to celebrate. George Clooney rang in his 58th birthday on Monday, May 6, although there wasn’t exactly a massive party thrown for him.
“I turned 58. Nothing is fun,” the actor said on Jimmy Kimmel Live when asked how he celebrated his birthday, revealing that he and his wife, Amal, enjoyed a “really nice” dinner at home. The Oscar winner also said that Amal, 41, is “working literally every single day” to secure the release of Reuters journalists Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo from Myanmar.
“Last night they walked out of prison,” the Catch-22 star told the host, 51. “That’s a good birthday present, wow,” Jimmy said.
“She was very happy. I got nothing,” George joked.
The Ocean’s Eleven costar admitted that he did receive “some presents” but only got “poop” from his 23-month-old twins Ella and Alexander. “Welcome to 58,” George quipped.
Unfortunately for the ER alum, the spotlight was taken from him on his birthday as a very special baby was born on the same day: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s first baby. “That kid stole my thunder,” he said, shutting down the rumors that he was going to be the little one’s godfather.
George’s birthday may not have been a giant bash, but it’s clear that he had no problem spending it with his wife and kids. He recently revealed just how crazy he is about his children. “They’re not terrible twos,” he jokingly said of his two kiddos on the Today show on Tuesday, May 7. “They’re good kids. They’re happy kids. They laugh a lot. They do pranks already. Put peanut butter on their shoes, so that it looks like poo-poo on their shoes and stuff, and they think that’s funny.”
He added, “They really come out with the personalities that they’re born with. They’re just completely different personalities, and they’re fun and smart.” How great!
