He’s learned from the best! George Clooney didn’t become a “great” father to his twin kids, Ella and Alexander Clooney, both 1, all on his own. Thanks to his dad, Nick Clooney, he learned how to be an exceptional father and an even better husband for his family.

“He is a great dad, a great, great dad as his dad was to him. Just like a father should be,” George’s friend Richard Kind gushed in a new interview with Us Weekly. “I knew he’d be a good father because everything he does is good.”

George, 57, proudly shares his two kids with his fashionista wife, Amal Clooney. In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter George revealed everything that he plans to teach his kids about growing up. “I want them to be happy. I want them to have a sense of humor. I want them to be interested in things,” he said. “I want them to be compassionate about other people’s plights. Because that’s the thing, you know? You have to have some sort of empathy.”

So far the dad-of-two seems to be doing a great job with that. He adores being a father so much that he’s apparently been thinking about adopting a child with Amal. “They think of the Syrian children that need homes and they get really serious,” a source previously shared to Closer Weekly about the couple. “Bringing home a Syrian refugee child would be a dream fulfilled for Amal.”

Adopting a baby in need would make their kids understand more about the world they live in, and that’s exactly what George and Amal try to teach them every day. “They want Ella and Alexander to become advocates like they are,” the insider explained. “Growing up with an adoptive sibling would be a huge life lesson.”
