Faith Hill is sadly mourning the loss of her mother.

The 49-year-old singer announced the news of her mom Edna Perry's passing via Instagram on Tuesday, Nov. 1. According to her obituary, Edna died at age 80 on Sunday, Oct. 30 in a Jackson, Miss. hospital.

"As you may have heard, my mom passed away on Sunday and was laid to rest this morning. While this is a difficult time for our family, we rejoice in knowing that she is in Heaven and no longer suffering. Thank you all for the kind words and prayers," Faith captioned a vintage photo of her mother on Instagram.

Faith — whose real name is Audrey Faith Perry — was adopted as an infant by Edna and her father, Ted Perry. She was raised by the couple and their two biological sons, Wesley Perry and Steve Perry. Edna is survived by her husband of 59 years, three children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
