Evanna Lynch Says It’s ‘Really Nice’ To Get Support From Former ‘Harry Potter’ Co-Stars On ‘Dancing With The Stars’ (EXCLUSIVE)
You most likely remember Evanna Lynch as the beloved character Luna Lovegood from the iconic Harry Potter movie series. Though it’s been seven years since the last movie was released in 2011, Evanna is still capturing our hearts today, just in a different, magical way.
The beautiful 27-year-old began dancing her way onto our TV screens — literally — less than two months ago when she was cast on Season 27 of Dancing With the Stars. Paired up with professional dancer Keo Motsepe, the couple has been busting their butts to put on a killer performance each week. And it just so happens that Evanna is getting support from more than just her fans.

The actress dished to Closer Weekly in an exclusive new interview that some of her former Harry Potter co-stars have recently reached out to her to express their support of her appearing on DWTS. “They’ve all been great. A lot of them have reached out on social media and yeah, just like sharing things,” she said while mentioning Bonnie Wright (aka Ginny Weasley) and a few others. “It’s been really, really nice to see that.”
Evanna may be receiving virtual words of encouragement, but it just so happens that she has some Harry Potter pals right by her side on-stage, too! In fact, Scarlett Byrne, known for playing Pansy Parkinson in the Harry Potter series, joined Evanna and Keo for their trio dance night. The two expressed words of gratitude for each other on social media and we imagine Harry Potter lovers all over the world had a field day when the pair reunited.
The amount of support that people are sending Evanna’s way must mean the world to her, and the My Name Is Emily actress is taking that energy and applying it to her dances each week. Quite frankly, Evanna is doing unbelievably so far, and she even gushed about what it would mean to take home the Mirror Ball trophy with partner Keo.
“That would be amazing,” Evanna dished to Closer while explaining that she wants to give Keo — who shockingly hasn’t even made it to the semifinals before — his first win. “It’s one thing for me. I have one shot at this so of course, I’m going to give it everything. But he has to do this every season, and for him to still have the passion and commitment and the hunger for it — I’m floored by his work ethic. It would be so amazing to go all the way and give him that Mirror Ball.”
Throughout this experience, the dancing duo has created a bond that truly can’t be broken — winning the competition would just be icing on the cake! We look forward to seeing more of Evanna and Keo, and if you are too, Dancing With the Stars airs on Mondays at 8:00 p.m. EST on ABC!
