Eva Mendes Gushes That ‘Falling in Love’ With Ryan Gosling Made Her Want to Have Kids
We don’t blame her! Eva Mendes revealed that motherhood wasn’t even on her radar before she met Ryan Gosling. Their life has obviously been very different since having kids but she wouldn’t have it any other way. The actress has been with her hunky beau since 2011 and they share two beautiful daughters.
“It was the furthest thing from my mind,” the 45-year-old told Women’s Health magazine about being a mom during an interview published on Tuesday, April 16. What changed for the gorgeous Hitch star? “Ryan Gosling happened,” she quipped.
The actress continued and explained that things just seemed so right with the 38-year-old. “I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me to have … not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him,” The Other Guys actress divulged.

As for how parenthood is treating them, their children — Esmeralda, 4, and Amanda, 2 — keep them on their toes. However, they’ve recruited lots of help from their loved ones. “We have an amazing support group: Ryan’s mom, my mom, Ryan’s and my sisters. It’s a village that helped us. My heart goes out to women who do this alone,” the Florida native said.
Now that their daughters are growing out of being toddlers, the couple is readjusting to their new normal. “We’re just starting to get out of survival mode. I’m starting to feel like a person again,” the Ghost Rider star admitted. One thing Eva tries to do for herself is to get to the gym three times a week with her trainer, Johana Spates.

However, some days are more of a struggle than others. “I’m envious of women who enjoy working out because I have the worst attitude about it,” she confessed. “My vanity gets me to the gym — and obviously health reasons — but I’m kicking and screaming the whole way through.”
Ryan and Eva sound like they’re doing great!
