Eva Longoria Gushes About Becoming a First-Time Mom at Age 43: “I’m Very Happy!”

Baby bliss! In a new interview with In Touch, Eva Longoria — who is expecting a baby boy with husband José Antonio Bastón — candidly opened up about becoming a first-time mom at age 43. After years of speculative headlines about the tiny 5-foot-2 star being pregnant, Eva shared that when she finally found out she was, she wasn’t worried about trying to hide it. “For years they’ve been saying it. I’d have a burger and: ‘Eva’s pregnant!'” the actress joked. “And then they go, ‘Eva’s fat!’ It was so funny, the one time they don’t say I’m pregnant, I am!”

Eva went on to explain that she was never worried about children not being in her future. “Women are having babies later and later, so I didn’t have that ‘biological clock ticking’ pressure. I [also] wasn’t with anybody for a while. I think babies are a product of love and partnership,” she shared, adding that when she met hubby José she knew it was time.

Now seven months along, Eva said she is starting to get everything in order for the baby. “Right now I’m without a home because I’m selling my old house! I don’t have a nursery, I haven’t stocked up on anything. [Soon] I’ll be in my new house and I can start focusing! But I’m very happy!” she gushed.

While this will be Eva’s first baby, it will be her husband’s fourth. José is already a proud dad to three older kids, Tali, Jose, and Mariana, from his previous marriage to Natalia Esperon. “[My stepchildren] have been such a gift in my life,” Eva previously said of her family. “They are amazing children,” she said in another interview. “I am so happy to be part of their lives.” We can’t wait to meet your new addition in just a few months, Eva!
