Just eight weeks after giving birth to her first baby, son Santiago, new mom Eva Longoria has happily returned to work — and brought her little boy along with her! “First day back to work and look who is my assistant director! Has a desk and everything! #WorkingMama #BabyBaston,” the 43-year-old actress captioned an adorable Instagram snapshot of herself with Santi on Monday, Aug. 20.

Eva and her husband, José Baston, welcomed their 6 lbs., 13 oz. bundle of joy on June 19 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA. While on her maternity leave, Eva couldn’t help but share lots of photos of her baby boy and gush about what it’s like being a first-time mama.

“You know what, it’s been [seven] weeks, he’s seven weeks old, and I’ve been with him day and night, not working for seven weeks and it’s been the best seven weeks of my life,” she sweetly told Entertainment Tonight in early August. “I just miss him so much.”

“So now comes the part where, as I start returning back to work slowly, [I’m asking], ‘How do you balance it all?'” Eva continued. “Everybody used to [ask] me, ‘How do you do it all? You do so many things? And I was just like, ‘Because I don’t have kids.’ I mean every project was my baby and now I actually have a baby.”

What makes Eva feel better about being away from her little boy, however, is that he’s such a good baby. “He’s a dream, and he’s such a good baby. I knock on wood. He’s just been so easy, so sweet, we’ve been really lucky, he’s super healthy. It’s just been great,” she confessed. “Everything he does is cute. His noises he makes, his smile. He’s finding his voice, so he makes all these funny [baby noises], you’re just like, ‘What was that?’ He talks a lot. I mean, he just wants to talk and talk.”

Eva and Jose previously confirmed the birth of their baby boy in late June. “Hello world! I introduce to you Santiago Enrique Bastón. Thank you everyone for showering my baby boy with all your warm wishes!” she wrote on Instagram alongside the pic of herself cuddling her baby that was released at the time of his birth announcement. She continued about the migrant children crisis: “In light of my son’s birth I wanted to bring focus on the families that have been separated at the border. Having my son next to me, I cannot imagine him being taken from my arms. Families belong together which is why we must do what we can to reunite them.”

At the time of Santiago’s birth, Eva also released a statement via Hola. “We are so grateful for this beautiful blessing,” the couple shared of their son. The bundle of joy joins José’s three older kids from a previous marriage, however, he’s Eva’s first child.

The duo — who married in a romantic Mexico wedding back in May 2016 — previously announced they were expecting in mid-December. Since the big news, Eva has been very open about her journey to motherhood. “I don’t know anything about the mom world even though I have a lot of nieces and a lot of girlfriends with kids,” she previously confessed. “I’ve been reading, and it’s a lot of information and things to absorb.”

The actress even joked about her “pregnancy brain” while she was carrying Santiago. She shared, “I have been working, so sometimes I wake up and I forget I am pregnant. Like this morning, I was like, ‘Oh my god, I am late!’ and then I was like, ‘Why can’t I get out of bed?’ and I was like, ‘Helppp!’ And then I was like, ‘Oh yeah, this thing.'”

Luckily for Eva, her hubby has been there the whole nine months of her pregnancy to take good care of her. “My husband spoils me all the time. Even before I was pregnant, he’d always give me foot rubs,” she exclusively gushed to Closer Weekly. “He just lets me sleep and eat.” And now, Eva and José will get to watch Santiago sleep and eat (and hopefully share some photos with us of him doing so!).
