Over the weekend, Erin Andrews married NHL star Jarret Stoll in a romantic ceremony, just months after she made the major health confession that she is a cancer survivor.
After hearing the scary news from her doctor last fall, Erin underwent a successful surgery 17 days later on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 to remove all traces of the cancer. The Fox NFL reporter then told her oncologist she wanted to recover from her surgery in time for that Sunday’s pro football game.

“I’m not watching any football games at home this year,” Erin recalled telling her doctor at the time. “This is our Super Bowl year, and I’m not missing the Super Bowl.”
While the Dancing With the Stars co-host’s hubby tried to get her to reconsider, Erin was steadfast in her decision to quickly return to work.
“Let’s not worry about that right now. Let’s just get you better,” Erin recalled Jarret, 35, telling her last fall to which she replied, “You wouldn’t miss a game. You’d play through any injury, do whatever it takes to get back out there. That’s going to be me.”
“Should I have been standing for a full game five days after surgery? Let’s just say the doctor didn’t recommend that. But… sports were my escape. I needed to be with my crew,” Erin said, adding she chose to not disclose her cancer battle to her bosses and colleagues at the time. “In a way, this all has allowed me [to relate] to players more. I understand what it’s like to be the story.”
A few weeks later, Erin underwent a second cervical cancer surgery on Nov. 1, 2016. Following that procedure, the TV star learned she would fortunately not need to undergo radiation or chemotherapy to treat the disease further. Today, she thankfully remains in good health.
