After spending the day with his two golden boys, Elton and hubby David Furnish headed to the singer's lavish LA birthday bash.

The gala, held at the Hammer Museum, had more star power than the Grammys. Along with marking his birthday, the event was also a celebration of Elton's lengthy career.

Stevie treated the room to his rendition of Elton's 1973 classic "Daniel." He was then joined by Lady Gaga for one the best "Happy Birthday" sing-alongs of all time.

The songstress — who is godmother to Elton and David's two sons — dipped into her back catalog, belting out "Born This Way" for the crowd.

"Some people don’t like birthdays, they don’t like celebrating, they don’t want to know about them, and I’ve always enjoyed my birthday," Elton mused about his 70th.

"Seventy sounds so archaic, doesn’t it?" he continued.

"When I was growing up, 70 sounded like the end of the world. But things have changed — you’re only as old as you feel inside," he said during his party.
