Quite the offer! Everyone was rocked with the news on Saturday, Match 9, that Alex Rodriguez proposed to his girlfriend of two years, Jennifer Lopez. And now that it’s official, the wedding planning can begin, and a familiar face wants to be maid of honor: Ellen DeGeneres.

“Yes. I’ll be your maid of honor,” the 61-year-old wrote in the comments section of the the singer’s announcement post on Instagram in which she hilariously tagged the talk show host, but not the former ballplayer, 43. The pair’s engagement comes just a few months after the comedian tried to figure out if the lovebirds were getting married soon.

“Your boyfriend. Remind me of his name,” Ellen joked while the Second Act star, 49, was on her show. “He said that y’all are going to be getting married.” Jennifer quickly replied, “He did not say that.” It didn’t stop there as Ellen continued to try and get some answers.

“He did,” the Game of Games host said. “He texted me today and said — he texted earlier today and he said —” “Let me see the text,” Jennifer demanded. And because she’s quick on her feet Ellen responded like this: “I don’t have my phone with me. I’m working. So you’ll be getting married?”

“I don’t know,” the hitmaker responded. Fast-forward to today and it seems like Ellen was pretty spot-on, even if she was just joking. It’s pretty clear that Alex and Jennifer are completely head-over-heels in love with each other as they’ve been making major steps in their relationship even before getting engaged.

Most recently, the duo bought a $6.6 million Malibu beach house together — one with 4,404-square-feet. And that will be the perfect space to hold their blended families. The performer has twins, Maximilian and Emme, 11, who she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Alex has two daughters, Natasha, 14, and Ella, 10, with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.

We wish the pair nothing but the best moving forward!
