Ellen DeGeneres Seemingly Agrees to a Stand-Up Special on Netflix — and We’re Thrilled!

Ellen DeGeneres took to Twitter on Wednesday, May 24 to seemingly reveal that she’s interested in doing a stand-up special on Netflix — and we can hardly contain our excitement!

The movie and series streaming brand first tweeted at Ellen saying, “Looks like it’s been 15 years since you did a stand-up special, @TheEllenShow. How about one for Netflix?”

Ellen quickly replied, “Let me think about it. Ok I’m in.” Interesting!

Though it’s unclear whether or not the comedian spontaneously reacted to the question or if it was a publicity stunt, we’re still thrilled about her decision to do the segment!

If it all comes to life, this will be the 59-year-old’s first stand-up special since she did Ellen DeGeneres: Here and Now in 2003. She currently her hosts her eponymous talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Netflix has recently slotted A-list comedians including Amy Schumer, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan, and more, so it would be no surprise if Ellen followed through with the idea. We can hardly wait!
