What a purchase! Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, apparently just forked over $27 million (yes, you read that right!) on quite the mansion in Montecito, California.

The talk show host, 61, and her 45-year-old spouse of more than ten years are reportedly all set to move into their new 8,188-square-foot home very soon. And while the price tag for Ellen and Portia’s new home may seem hefty, the property was actually a bargain compared to the original asking price of $40 million. What a steal, right?! Once they move in, Ellen and Portia will be walking through the front doors to five bedrooms and ten bathrooms, because you can never have enough room. The property is also on 8.24 acres of land, which is good news for the stand-up comic who is a huge fan of animals.

And forget about calling HGTV, as the mansion is pretty much move-in ready. The pair’s new residence features bamboo ceilings, oak floors, a fire-pit and an outside dining area for when the twosome is feeling cooped-up. And since Ellen will most likely have famous pals staying over a night or two, a guesthouse with an additional two bedrooms, a kitchen and a detached office is also included.

Believe it or not, the house also has a private cabana, a pool, a gym and a few walk-in closets to top it all off. And this purchase is good news for the star of The Ellen DeGeneres Show who apparently was a bit hesitant about her alleged move to Australia, as a report recently revealed the couple put an offer in on a $20 million estate near Portia’s family home in Horsham, Victoria. “California is home to her and she can’t imagine permanently moving to the other side of the world,” an insider once told In Touch.

The Arrested Development alum wanted to spend “at least six months of the year there for a few years,” according to the source. And while Portia could probably still do that, she and Ellen will apparently be calling California home for a bit longer.
