It was revealed earlier this week that ABC's Elizabeth Vargas is back in rehab for alcohol abuse, but it appears she has yet another battle ahead of her: divorce.

A source with knowledge of her situation shares that Elizabeth and husband Marc Cohn are, in fact, in the middle of divorce proceedings. "The kids are with him in New York while she seeks treatment," the source tells People magazine.

After opening up about her long struggle with addiction last November, the 51-year-old reporter announced Monday she had reentered rehab while on vacation.

"I feel I have let myself, my co-workers and most importantly my family down, and for that I am ashamed and sorry," Elizabeth said in a statement.

The pair, who wed in 2002, share two sons, Zachary, 11, and Samuel, 8. But despite their reported separation, singer-songwriter Marc, who is currently taking a break from touring, issued his own statement to People.

"On behalf of Elizabeth's family, we are in total support of her recovery and want her to be well," he said.

ABC, where the anchor has worked for 18 years, also showed their support, saying they stand "squarely behind her" during these recent troubles and "look forward to having [Elizabeth] back at ABC News when she feels ready to return."
