Rest in peace, Maurice White.

According to TMZ, the Earth, Wind & Fire co-founder and singer died in his sleep on Thursday, Feb. 4. He was 74-years-old.

The music icon — who is known for many hit songs including “Boogie Wonderland,” “September” and “Let’s Groove” — sadly passed away after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was diagnosed in 1992 and stopped touring with the band two years later due to his illness.

Maurice is survived by his two brothers and fellow band members, Verdine, 64, and Fred, 61.
