Drew Scott Says Son Parker Is ‘Racing Around’ Home in Rare Parenting Update After Welcoming Baby No. 2

Drew Scott is soaking up every minute of fatherhood while his kids are young. The Property Brothers star opened up about raising son Parker and daughter Piper with his wife, Linda Phan.

“Seeing Parker as a big brother to Piper is pretty cool,” Drew, 46, told People on Thursday, October 24. “At first he was a little unsure, and then now they seem like the best of buds.”

Piper, five months, arrived on May 21, 2024, and already has a sweet relationship with her brother, though Parker, 2, still seems to be adjusting to being an older sibling at times.

“I mean, there are days when it’s like, ‘Oh, I don’t know, can we return her?’” Linda, 39, said. “That’s what he thinks, but they’re going to be best friends now.”

“Yeah, in the beginning it was a little like, ‘Who is this stealing my attention?’” Drew added.“But now he seems to love it, and it seems like she’s sort of picking things up fast watching him. She’s only five months, but the look on her face when she just watches him is pretty sweet.”

Parker was born in May 2022 on the couple’s fourth wedding anniversary.

As for how life has changed since welcoming a daughter, Drew said, “Girl dad life. So far, no different,” adding, “We have a toddler that’s racing around. He’s more work right now than a five-month old, but it’s pretty amazing, yeah. We are tired. Do we look tired?”

Drew echoed a similar sentiment while speaking with Collider in August about raising two little ones with Linda.

“At first, he was a little trepidatious. He didn’t know what to expect. It’s almost like he thought she was gonna hurt him or something, and then he was getting a little jealous,” the HGTV personality said of Parker’s reaction to Piper’s birth. “‘Who’s this lady coming along and stealing my time? I’m the most important one in this house.’ Now he’s at the point where he seems to just want to spend every minute with her. He wants to nuzzle up with her and kiss her hand or her head and kind of pet her and stuff like that. It’s really adorable to see the two of them together.”

Drew said that Parker and Piper love spending time with their cousins. His twin brother, Jonathan Scott, is a bonus dad to fiancée Zooey Deschanel’s kids, Charlie and Elsie, from her marriage to ex-husband Jacob Pechenik.

“I know what it was like having JD and Jonathan growing up. I loved having siblings, and Jonathan and Zooey have two kids. They know what it’s like to have siblings. It can be the best of times and the worst of times,” Drew said. “Even Linda’s sisters have kids, and you see they love each other, they hate each other, they love each other. So now with them, especially being two years apart, I think that that’s gonna help them. Hopefully, it’ll help them bond and be closer as they get older.”
