Who needs a gym and healthy diet when you can just sign up for Dancing With the Stars? In a new interview with Life & Style magazine, Drew Scott — who is the star of HGTV’s Property Brothers and a contestant on Season 25 of DWTS — opened up about the big weight loss (27 pounds to be exact!) he achieved by rehearsing for the reality competition.

“It’s nuts. [My dance partner, Emma Slater], can’t believe it, either. Now I have to make sure I’m upping my calories because I need to have energy to do the show!” The self-described “athletic brother” additionally revealed he’s been doubling his workouts and eating “cleaner” to get fit for his exciting new role on Dancing With the Stars. Watch the video below to see what else Drew has said about his weight loss!

Drew and Emma recently announced they’d be a pair on the show days before the official cast announcement on Good Morning America. “It’s official! @TheEmmaSlater and me! Are you ready?” Drew captioned a boomerang of the two dancing. Emma added, “It’s official! @MrDrewScott is my partner for Season 25 [of] @DancingABC! Super stoked! I’m truly a fan, really looking forward to dancing with real estate royalty.?What do you guys think? Any team names?! #Twins #ImAPropertySister.”

Getting in shape comes at a perfect time for Drew, who is currently planning his dream destination wedding with fiancée Linda Phan. The 39-year-old previously gushed about the couple’s big day in an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly. “We’ve been so busy, we haven’t finalized our date yet! We’re looking at spring. If we want to do spring we really need to move fast because we need to let people know when to lock us a date,” he said. “It’s going to be a destination wedding. We’re going to be going overseas, we just haven’t decided exactly where.” We can hardly wait to see Drew all fit in his suit!

And of course, we’ll be rooting for Drew in the ballroom each week when DWTS airs on ABC! In a recent interview, Drew said of the show, “I want to make sure [Emma] gets the duo. I want to make sure she gets that second mirror ball. Hopefully, I can remember my routines.” Emma added, “I don’t feel any pressure at all. I feel like each season is a complete new-tailor made experience for each individual. It’s completely different. This is mine and Drew’s season. I don’t feel a certain way about it other than I want it to be the best that it can be, and personal to Drew on his journey.”
