The rumors are true!

George Clooney will appear as a guest star in an upcoming Downton Abbey Christmas sketch — and this morning, the cast of the popular PBS period drama revealed what it was like to work with Mr. Clooney!

“He’s in a sketch for a fundraiser,” actor Hugh Bonneville confirmed on Monday, Dec. 8 on ‘Today’ during a cast interview.

“We didn’t all get to meet him, and we’re not bitter,” quipped Lesley Nicol, who plays Mrs. Patmore on the show.

The actor visited the ‘Downton Abbey’ set this fall to make a special-guest appearance in a sketch that will appear during the U.K. charity telethon, Text Santa, which will air during the holidays.

Though George won’t actually be seen in a full-length ‘Downton Abbey’ episode, fans of the show — which returns on Jan. 4, 2015 — will still get a glimpse of the Oscar-winner alongside some of the series’ stars when the full ITV clip airs on Dec. 19.
