This is the moment for Donny Osmond and he’s running with the opportunity! The beloved Donny & Marie star took to social media on Monday, Jan. 7 to announce that new music is in the works for the former teen idol nearly 50 years since the release of his first solo effort.

“I’m excited to let you in on a little secret. I’ve officially started working on my 62nd album!” the 61-year-old wrote in the caption. “I’ll keep you posted throughout the year as I continue creating it, but I have a feeling you’re going to love it.”

Fans were quick to express their excitement following the “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” singer’s splendid news. “Congratulations Donny, that’s awesome. I have many albums you made and they’re all fantastic. Can’t wait for your new one,” one user wrote in the comment section. “Long overdue in my opinion. Can’t wait,” said another.

While many fans were over the moon about Donny’s announcement, many also began to speculate that a new album could potentially mean a new tour. “Loving the sound of a new album. Very exciting. New Album…New Tour? Forever hopeful,” one fan wrote.

Though a Donny tour sounds amazing, the entertainer has been spending his time at home on the couch after an unfortunate shoulder injury he sustained while dancing. “Turns out dancing accidents aren’t so convenient after all,” Donny wrote in the caption of a photo of him in an arm sling. “I’m home after a successful shoulder surgery and settling in for some serious #RestandRecovery.”

Thankfully Donny was able to laugh at the situation. “We should all be glad I’m the patient, not the surgeon. #newyear #newshoulder,” he joked in the caption. As Donny continues to recover from his injury, we’re going to patiently wait for more information on his anticipated 62nd album!
