The end of an era! After spending 11 years singing and dancing onstage at the Flamingo Resort in Las Vegas, Donny Osmond and Marie Osmond have announced that they will be taking their final bows by the end of this year. The famed brother-sister duo broke the sad news during an appearance on Good Morning America on Thursday, March 21.

“It’s been rumored that we’re bringing ‘Donny and Marie’ to an end here in Las Vegas,” Donny, 61, told host Paula Faris. “We’re here to say it’s official.” The “Morning Side of the Mountain” singers have been taking the stage together for more than 40 years, so the decision to end their residency was “very, very hard,” he added.

Donny and Marie, 59, have had a great run. In fact, their residency first began as a six-week show but ended up being so successful that the Flamingo kept bringing them back. During their GMA appearance earlier this morning, Marie revealed that it will be extremely hard to say goodbye to fans that “waited their entire life” to see them but never got the chance. “They’ve come from all over the world to see us here in Vegas,” Marie explained.

Following the announcement, Donny took to Instagram to share a sweet message to the siblings’ fans. “It’s official! At the end of 2019, Marie and I will conclude our #LasVegas residency,” he began. “It’s a strange feeling knowing that the end is on the horizon. Last night after the show, I couldn’t help but think about all that I’m going to miss once it’s over. I’m going to miss performing on stage with my extremely talented sister every night. She’s the best partner in crime a guy could ask for.⁣”

The former teen idol even penned a sweet shout-out to the resort that has hosted them for the last decade. “I’m going to miss our home away from home, @FlamingoVegas. We’ve had the time of our lives here.”

Even though we will have to bid our final farewell to the beloved entertainers, Donny and Marie are both working on projects they are excited to share with fans in the near future. “It’s the end of the Donny and Marie show,” Donny teased on GMA. “It’s not the end of Donny and Marie.” We will miss you!
