Donny Osmond Gives His Older Brother Merrill a Sweet Shout-Out on His 66th Birthday

Celebrating his siblings birthdays is something Donny Osmond will never forget to do! On Tuesday, April 30, he took to Instagram to give his older brother Merrill Osmond a sweet shout-out for turning 66 years old.

“Happy birthday to my big brother Merrill!?,” Donny, 61, shared next to a pic of him and his brother. “Thank you for always inspiring me to work hard and be a better person. I really admire that Merrill has never been one to rest on his laurels. Despite already having accomplished so much in his life, Merrill recently earned his honorary doctorate degree. There’s nothing that can stop this guy. Love you, bro!”

Like Donny, Merrill was also a member of their family’s singing group, The Osmonds. However one achievement that sets him apart from his family is that he’s been knighted twice: one by the Order of Saint Michael of the Wing and one by the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem. How cool is that?!

Though Merrill doesn’t really perform with Donny and Marie Osmond at the Flamingo Resort in Las Vegas, he still loves to sing and support his siblings no matter what! Donny’s birthday tribute to Merrill comes just two weeks after he opened up about his brother Jimmy Osmond‘s health issues on Instagram.

“As many of you may know, my sweet brother Jimmy has faced difficult health setbacks this year with his recent stroke,” Donny said in a heartbreaking post on Tuesday, April 16. “He has always been a source of inspiration to me. But now more than ever, it’s humbling and inspiring to watch Jimmy face a difficult road of #recovery with optimism, hope, dedication and resilience. I’m so happy with his progress. Your thoughts and prayers are really working miracles.”

This past December, Jimmy was hospitalized for suffering a stroke after he was done doing a performance in England. Fans are still sending their best wishes to the singer.
