White House Seeks Privacy for Donald Trump’s Son Barron Trump, 10, After Online Bullying Situation

Poor Barron Trump.

Donald Trump‘s 10-year-old son has sadly been a victim of online bullying since his father first decided to run for President of the US. And now that Donald’s officially in office, the White House is asking for privacy for his young boy as well as his four other children.

“It is a longstanding tradition that the children of Presidents are afforded the opportunity to grow up outside of the political spotlight,” the statement from the Office of the Press Secretary read. “The White House fully expects this tradition to continue. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.”

Throughout the POTUS’ highly-publicized campaign, Barron was known for not attending many of his father’s public events with him. On Election Night, he made headlines after noticeably struggling to stay awake onstage following Donald’s big win. He was then noticeably absent from his dad’s pre-Inauguration concert on Thursday, Jan. 18. At the Inauguration on Friday, Jan. 19, Barron seemed bored and tired throughout. All these happenings unfortunately resulted in a lot of backlash from social media users.

In the hours following the Inauguration ceremony, Chelsea Clinton — who served as the First Daughter when her father, Bill Clinton, was President from 1992 until 2000 — took to Twitter to defend Barron’s tough role in the spotlight.

As previously reported Barron and his mother, Melania Trump, will not be moving to the White House quite yet. The mother and son will live in their Trump Tower penthouse so Barron can continue attending his prestigious private elementary school in NYC’s Upper West Side. The two will reportedly stay in NYC until Barron finishes the school year, but there are no set plans for them to move to Washington DC after.
