Don Rickles Reveals What’s on His Bucket List — “I Want to Stay Alive!”
In an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, 89-year-old insult comic Don Rickles opens up about everything from his 50-year marriage to his long-lasting career and even reveals what’s left on his bucket list!
“My bucket list is to keep my health and be with my family as long as the good guy lets me,” he tells Closer, on newsstands now. “I want to stay alive!”

At his age, Don is still touring as a stand-up comedian and tells Closer that he doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon.

“My head is still there, and I know it’s healthy to keep working,” Don explains. “As long as the audience shows up and laughs, I’m there and I’m delighted.”

And he’s got the same positive attitude about turning 90 next year! “I hope I can go longer than that. When I turned 89, I said, ‘Holy mackerel, where did the time go?’ But thank God, I’m still going out, and my wife keeps me busy. It’s a good life,” he tells Closer.
Don and wife Barbara celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. On the secret to their lasting marriage: “The main thing is the friendship and loyalty you develop. When things are down, you have someone at your side who believes in you. And when things are up, you have great times — and that’s been our marriage.”
