He may never have had any children of his own, but Drew Carey knows a thing or two about being a dad. The Whose Line is it Anyway? host is the proud step-father to his ex-fiancée’s son, Connor.

The 61-year-old was previously engaged to Nicole Jaracz, who is the mom to her biological 14-year-old son. Although Drew is not his father by blood, The Price Is Right host has always referred to the youngster as his “son.”

Connor was welcomed into the beloved comedian’s life when Drew and Nicole began dating a while back. Sadly, the pair ended their relationship in January 2012 after being engaged since 2007. Following the news of their split, Drew’s reps shared a statement.

“He and Nicole still have a great deal of love and affection for one another,” the rep dished to Us Weekly at the time. “He will still be very involved with their son’s life.”

Although co-parenting can be difficult, Drew and Nicole made it look easy. Over four years after they initially called it quits, the Dirty Jokes and Beer author took to Instagram to give his ex-fiancée a sweet shout-out on Mother’s Day. “And lifelong thanks and love and gratitude to Nicole for bringing this guy into my life,” he sweetly gushed in May 2016. “Happy Mother’s Day to you especially.”

Drew even credits Connor with saving his life. In November 2009, the TV personality weighed his heaviest ever: 262 pounds. Besides developing a litany of weight-related health conditions, including type-2 diabetes, Drew was miserable. It was Connor who gave him the incentive to get serious.

“I couldn’t keep up with him,” Drew candidly revealed to Parade in September 2010. Drew explained that he couldn’t keep up with his kiddo because running around would leave him breathless and sweating after just a few minutes. “I’d be like, ‘Connor, I can’t,’ and he’d say, ‘C’mon, Dad!’ That was a terrible feeling. I thought, I’m never going to see him graduate high school.” Thanks to Connor, Drew dropped over 100 pounds.

We love this father-son duo!
