He’s still kicking up his heels at 93, performing age-defying dance routine in last year’s musical sequel Mary Poppins Returns — but how does Dick Van Dyke keep going so strong?

“I just love what I do,” he exclusively told Closer Weekly at the recent opening of Feinstein’s at Vitello’s supper club in LA. “I’ve been one of those lucky people that gotten do something for a living that he would have done for nothing. That’s why I’m still here tonight. They can’t get me off the stage.”

The legendary actor attributes his agility to “good genes and not getting hit by a bus.” “I’ve always been an exerciser and I still am. I go to the gym three days a week, get in the pool and exercise,” he revealed. He also does water aerobics, lifts weights and walks on a treadmill. “At my age, they say to keep moving,” Dick said. “Put me on solid ground and I’ll start tapping!”

The actor was able to return for the sequel to his 1964 classic, and was more than happy to dance alongside Emily Blunt — who played the title role — and Lin-Manuel Miranda from Hamilton fame. “I mainly talked to Dick about [his Tony-winning 1960 turn in] Bye Bye Birdie, because I played Conrad Birdie in 6th grade, so we talked a lot of song and dance,” the composer, 39, exclusively told Closer Weekly of his experience on set with Dick.

“Dick has more energy than I will ever have in my life, and it’s incredible,” gushed Lin-Manuel. “It’s humiliating, and it’s awesome!”

The Night At the Museum costar isn’t hanging up his shoes just yet either, as he is currently working on another film titled Capture the Flag, which will see him team up with Louis Gossett Jr. and John Amos — we can’t wait!
