It’s been 15 years since Dennis Quaid’s divorce from Meg Ryan — a nasty split that involved the former couple taking hits at each other in the press — but now, the actor is speaking out about how he moved forward.
“You have to be [friendly with an ex] after a while,” the 62-year-old said in a new interview with Radio Times. “If you're bitter still after 15 years — and still holding grudges — something's wrong with you, not with them.”
Dennis was married to Meg, 55, from 1991 until 2001. Their 10-year marriage came to an end after the Sleepless in Seattle star allegedly had an affair with actor Russell Crowe.

But in a 2008 interview with Insight magazine, she revealed Dennis was the one who had been unfaithful during their marriage. Shortly after Meg accused her ex-husband of cheating, he hit back with his own response.
“It was eight years ago, and I find it unbelievable that Meg continues publicly to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship,” Dennis said at the time. “I, myself, moved on years ago and am fortunate to have a happy, beautiful family.”
Dennis also slammed his wife for forcing their son — 24-year-old Jack Quaid — to relive his parent’s divorce through the media.

At the time of their public spat, Dennis was already married to his third wife, real estate agent Kimberly Buffington. But now the couple — who share eight-year-old twins Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace — are estranged and Kimberly filed for divorce last June.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to end our 12-year marriage,” the couple said in a joint statement obtained by TMZ. “The decision was made amicably and with mutual respect toward one another. We will always remain great friends and devoted partners in raising our children.”
