Denise Richards Admits She Told Her Teenage Daughters About Her Nude ‘Playboy’ Spread: ‘I’m Honest With Them’
Honesty is the best policy when it comes to Denise Richards and her daughters. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recently opened up about her Hollywood wild side and revealed she told her teenage daughters about her 2004 nude spread in Playboy.
“I’m honest with them,” the 48-year-old beauty admitted during an episode of Dean McDermott’s “Daddy Issues” podcast with Adam Hunter and Nicky Paris. “They had heard that I was in Playboy. I didn’t even think that they would know what that is because now kids can go on the internet and see all kinds of things, so [I had] to explain that.”
During the episode, which was published on Wednesday, August 7, Denise dished that her kids aren’t really that interested in keeping up with their mom’s publicity. “They don’t Google [me]. I don’t think they want to know certain things either,” she quipped. “I wouldn’t want to read certain things about my parents.”
The Starship Troopers actress is the loving mama to her two kids, Sam Sheen, 15, and Lola Rose Sheen, 14, with ex-husband Charlie Sheen. In 2005, Denise called it quits and filed for divorce from the Two and a Half Men actor and later adopted her third child, daughter Eloise Richards, now 7.
Although Denise didn’t hold back when it came to addressing her past nude photoshoot, it seems that she does have a limit on what she does and does not share with her daughters. In late April, the former model got candid about starring in the 1998 erotic thriller Wild Things and revealed that her children won’t be seeing it anytime soon.
“I definitely did not give them a copy,” Denise — who has since married husband Aaron Phypers — told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia at the time. “I told them, ‘I don’t want you guys watching this,’ because one of my daughters brought it up to me and I was shocked.”
The topic came into discussion when one of her daughters approached her about the scandalous footage of the film, including the famous love scene with her costar, Neve Campbell. “A couple of friends had told her about it and I just said to her, ‘I would appreciate if you didn’t watch it,’” she hilariously recalled. “It’s not age-appropriate.”
Well, it seems like Denise isn’t afraid to put her foot down from time to time!
