Actor David Canary, who was best known for starring on soap operas such as All My Children and Another World, has sadly died at age 77.

The soap opera legend and five-time Daytime Emmy Award winner died of natural causes on Nov. 16 at The Greens at Cannondale in Wilton, Conn., Soaps In Depth reported.

David’s first role on the big screen was as a physical therapist on the renowned Peyton Place. During the ’80s, he began his 26-year run as twins brothers Stuart and Adam Chandler on ABC’s on All My Children, in which he gained 16 Emmy nominations. He also appeared in the NBC television western series, Bonanza, from 1959 to 1973.

He is survived by his wife, Maureen Maloney, and his three children, Christopher, Lisa and Katy.
