David Bowie has been honored in a very special way, one year after his untimely death.

The iconic singer — who sadly passed away at age 69 in January 2016 — posthumously received five awards at last night's Grammys for his latest album, Blackstar.

Despite his five Grammy wins this year, David was surprisingly overlooked by the Recording Academy throughout his lifetime. In fact, his posthumous victories were the first Grammys David has ever received in musical categories. He did, however, win a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006 and the honor for best music film in 1985.

Following his late father's wins, David's son, Duncan Jones, took to Twitter to recognize the singer's achievements. "So proud of you dad! Would hold you up forever.❤️#Grammys2017," the 45-year-old film director and producer wrote alongside a throwback pic of himself carrying David. The "Under Pressure" singer welcomed Duncan with his first wife, Angie Bowie, in May 1971.

Just one month after David's death, Duncan announced he and his wife, Rodene Ronquillo, were expecting the late singer's first grandchild. "One month since dad died today. Made this card for him at Christmas. Due in June. Circle of life. Love you, granddad," Duncan wrote alongside a drawing of a baby in utero on Twitter. The couple later welcomed a son, Stenton David Jones, on July 10, 2016.
