The soccer star shared a throwback photo of himself with his mother on Monday, June 26 — and we can’t get over how unrecognizable he looked when he was a young boy!
“Happy Birthday to one of the most amazing mums and Grandma anyone could wish for… Thank you for always being the person you are. We love you and appreciate everything you do for us x,” the 42-year-old captioned the cute pic.

Although it’s clear where David’s three sons, Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and Cruz, 12, get their good looks from, we can’t get over the star’s style choice in this pic (let’s just say we’re not loving the polka-dot tie).
In a previous interview on The Late Late Show, David was asked about his questionable fashion after spending years of dressing just like his wife, Victoria Beckham (remember their matching leather jackets?)!

“That idea was not my idea,” David confessed. “But they were right at the time. The leather outfits, actually it could have been a lot worse that evening because we were walking out the door and I was like ‘Why don’t we arrive on a motorbike?’ Which obviously back then felt like a good idea, but now talking about it would have been absolutely ridiculous.” Too funny!
