Actor Danny Pino Dishes His Secret to a Successful 17-Year Marriage With Wife Lilly
It’s no surprise that Danny Pino is a huge family man. “My wife and kids are the most important thing in my life,” the 45-year-old gushed to Closer Weekly in an exclusive interview, on newsstands now. “Lilly and I actually met in middle school. We’re just celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary, but we’ve known each other for almost 30 years. It’s crazy!”
Danny actually met his longtime love, Lilly Pino, when he first began pursuing a career in acting a few decades ago. Although juggling a relationship while trying to make a name for himself in Hollywood was hard, Danny and Lilly were determined to come out on top.
“It takes work. So even on days you don’t necessarily feel like you want to follow through with things, it’s important to make the effort, to show that you’re there and you care, to try to understand what’s going on,” the Florida native dished of their secret to maintaining their loving and healthy marriage. “Just like in acting, the most important thing in a relationship for me is listening. And we love to travel together!”
The couple is not only living a life of wedded bliss, but Danny and Lilly are also the proud parents to their two sons, Luca Pino, 13, and Julian Pino, 11. In fact, the handsome hunk revealed to Closer that his wife and kids are the reason he continues to be humble and grounded despite a career that’s been focused on acclaimed crime dramas such as Cold Case, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and his latest project, Gone.
“Family puts you firmly on solid ground, so you deal with real life,” the son of Cuban immigrants shared. “I always find that coming home to them is a blessing.” Happy early anniversary, Danny and Lilly!
