It seems Courteney Cox may not be tying the knot with fiancé Johnny McDaid after all. According to a new report, the 54-year-old actress is scared to get hitched with Johnny, 42, because of the recent heartbreak her best friend Jennifer Aniston just experienced in her divorce from Justin Theroux.

“They are in a good place, so Courteney feels, ‘Why complicate things?’ There have been so many high-profile splits lately, and it’s reminding her how awful her divorce from David Arquette was and how the media fed off it way more than if they hadn’t been married. Courteney already has one failed marriage. She doesn’t want another,” a source close to the actress told Star magazine in a new interview.

When Jennifer announced her split from Justin after just two years of marriage in February, Courteney was right by her longtime friend’s side as she got over her ex. “Courteney was with Jen through it all with [Brad Pitt] and with Justin too. Through good times and the bad, Courteney has helped Jen through relationship issues over the years and she still feels very protective of her friend,” a source recently told Hollywood Life of the duo.

Even before their separation, Courteney saw firsthand the heartache that Justin put Jennifer through. “There’d be many times when Jen would drive to Courteney’s house in tears because Justin was ‘being a nightmare,'” Life & Style previously revealed. “Courteney has always been there for her [best friend] and advised her on how to deal with Justin’s behavior, but nothing Jen did seemed to work.”

Though Courteney had allegedly asked Jen to be her maid of honor in her wedding to Johnny, the Cougar Town star is now just happy with the Snow Patrol rocker being her partner instead of her husband. “I don’t know if you can put a label on what makes us work so well,” Johnny once said of his romance with Courteney. “But I know that I’ve never loved like I love this woman. So if that’s enough, then that’s enough.”
