Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire and More! See Your Favorite Country Stars Then and Now
One of the best parts of staying up to date with country singers is getting to see how they’ve transformed over the years. While fans adore watching Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton and more stars grow in their careers, seeing how they’ve rocked red carpets is just as exciting. Take one look at photos of them now compared to back then, and you’ll see some truly epic evolutions!
As country music fans know, Carrie rose to fame after winning the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. Since then, she’s won countless Grammys, CMA Awards and other impressive accolades. She’s also the proud mom of her two sons, Isaiah and Jacob, whom she shares with her husband of more than 10 years, Mike Fisher.
Reba, on the other hand, reached Hollywood superstardom in a different way. The “Fancy” songstress rose to prominence in the mid-1970s after she was discovered by music star Red Steagall. Shortly after, she signed with Mercury Records. With over 42 No. 1 singles, 16 No. 1 albums and more, Reba — who shares son Shelby Blackstock with ex-husband Narvel Blackstock — is considered one of music’s most iconic stars.
Other country music favorites include singers like Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban. We can’t forget Dolly Parton, however, as she’s one of the most beloved entertainers and actresses in all of Hollywood. The “I Will Always Love You” songstress rose to fame in the 1970s and she’s been dominating the music scene ever since.
Although Dolly holds many impressive records, has sold out hundreds of concerts around the world and has a net worth of an estate $650 million, she’s still your typical, down-to-earth type of gal. In fact, the Steel Magnolias actress — who tied the knot with husband Carl Thomas Dean in 1966 — insisted she hasn’t been phased by all her fame and fortune over the last few decades.
“The parties and seeing all the stars … I still get a kick out of it,” she shared with Closer Weekly at an event during Emmys weekend in 2017. “I’m a country girl. I used to think about Hollywood when I’d see it on TV. Now I get to be part of it. It’s fun.”
The “Jolene” songstress said she gets her humble spirit from her late mom, Avie Lee Owens. “My mother always used to say, ‘To thine own self be true,’” Dolly explained. “That’s some of the best advice. I try to remember who I am, who my mama was, and what I was taught, and try to be true to my own nature, my own personality and my own talent.”
We can’t believe how far Dolly and all these stars have come!
