She may be loving her new Newport Beach, California home with husband Ant Anstead, but that doesn’t mean Christina El Moussa had an easy time saying goodbye to the house she used to share with ex Tarek El Moussa. In a new episode of the Flip or Flop star’s solo show, Christina on the Coast, the mother-of-two gives fans a look at what it was like for her to pack up her abode in Yorba Linda, California. After the El Moussas finalized their divorce in January 2018, they went their separate ways and sold the home they’d lived in together.

“I never thought that when I listed the house that it would sell this quickly,” Christina, 35, said in the June 6 episode of the HGTV show. “It listed and sold in just one week. … And while I’m super excited to just close this chapter of my life after the divorce, it’s also bittersweet. There’s just so many memories wrapped up in it.” The star couldn’t stop thinking about all of the milestones she shared with her children, daughter Taylor and son Brayden, as they grew up there.

“Brayden was born in this home,” she continued. “It’s really the only house that Taylor knows and remembers. I know it’s going to be really hard on Taylor to move, as well. It’s been a lot of change for her over the past couple years,” she says. After the movers packed up all their stuff, Christina’s 8-year-old daughter wanted to “go back the next day and say bye to the house.” Doing that seemed to be the most painful part for the star. “I had to walk her into a completely empty house. She did cry, and it was heartbreaking for me as a mom to watch her go through it,” Christina admitted. “So while it is going to be an amazing fresh start for us all, it’s also very emotional.”

Luckily, it seems that Christina’s kids are now settling in nicely with their new step-dad and step-siblings. On her Instagram, the mom, who gained two new bonus kids when she married Ant and is now expecting baby No. 5, shared that the whole family had hung out over Memorial Day weekend as they went to see Aladdin in theaters. All of the El Moussa-Anstead kids came together for the couple’s gender reveal in April, too. We love seeing how strongly the blended family has bonded together, and we can’t wait to continue following Christina’s story on her show.
