They may be two of the hardest-working people out there right now, but Chip and Joanna Gaines know that what makes their lives happy is spending time together as a family.

“It’s about quality time together, but also giving each other space — and three bathrooms don’t hurt either,” an insider exclusively tells Closer Weekly. “They always eat meals together at the table and their family nights include games like cards and checkers, then bedtime stories and prayers. In this house, mom’s rules include no cell phones or TV, homework first then play and no computers after 6 p.m. In the evening, the kids kick back by reading each other stories. Everyone says they have the perfect life.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of the former Fixer Upper pair putting family first and career second — another source once exclusively told Closer Weekly, “Being good parents is Chip and Joanna’s first priority.” This came after there were rumors that the duo doesn’t spend enough time with their children.

“For the record: If there’s ever a need with my family, I’ll shut this circus down so fast it will make your head spin,” Chip, 44, once said. “But Jo and I believe that with God, anything is possible, including having an amazing family and a career you love.”

The married couple have five kids together —  Drake, 14, Ella Rose, 13, Duke, 13, Emmie Kay, 9, and Crew, almost 10 months — and, while they enjoy all spending time with each other, the children are of course as hard working as their parents.

“They love being here,” Joanna, 41, once told People of the kiddos hanging with them at the Magnolia headquarters in Waco, Texas. “I always try to involve them with what we’re doing at work.” In fact, each child even has a task to do.

“Each kid has their own thing. Drake loves the production side, so in the summer he’s up with the guys, and they’re teaching him how to edit,” the designer told the outlet. “Then Ella is like me. I think she’ll follow in my footsteps and have her hand in a lot of things. Right now she wants to cook, be a lead designer and have a donut truck.” As for Duke and Emmie, they are all about talking with customers!

What a great family!
