Just when you thought Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines didn’t have anything left up their sleeve, they surprise us with more! The Fixer Upper couple may already own a large plot of land for their multi-faceted business located in Waco, Texas, but a source close the two exclusively told Closer Weekly that Chip and Jo are looking to “fix up” the town even more and make it part of their empire.

“They’re turning Waco into their own brand of paradise … They’re buying uptown property at a rapid rate, including a real castle and a historic museum just blocks from their Magnolia Market at the Silos,” the insider told Closer. “Chip and Jo feel the town could use some improving.”

So hard to believe that three years ago this place was just an abandoned old grain mill. I remember driving by it on a Monday morning after dropping the kids off at school – I had driven by this place for years and never even took notice of it. That particular morning was different though, as I drove by I felt a nudge in my spirit to turn around. I was in a hurry and wanted to just ignore it but something kept telling me to turn around. So I did. I drove by it and this time I stopped and got out. In that moment I felt like God put a dream and vision in my heart for this place. I saw people coming from all over with their friends and family and their focus was on enjoying the now and embracing the gift of being together. I’m thankful to Chip for getting behind this “God-sized” dream as he would call it, and making it happen. Sorry, this is starting to sound like an acceptance speech, cue the music 🤔 But I need to just say thank you to everyone who has travelled both near and far to visit the Silos and be a part of this dream with us. We love this place and now just three years in it, Chip & I are only getting started. We want this place to be a launching pad to help lots of other people’s dreams happen as well. As I get all sappy and emotional this #silobration weekend, all I feel is Thankful. Grateful. Hopeful. God loves every kind of restoration. Whether it’s on a stinky old house, some large silos, a friendship, a marriage, or even a country- Nothing is too small or too big for Him.

While fans of Chip, 44, and Jo, 40, can’t wait to hear what plans they have in mind, some of those who live in the community of Waco are, apparently, not too happy about the possible changes. “Residents aren’t thrilled and are calling them the greedy Gaineses,” the insider revealed. “Real estate prices have soared because of them.” Yikes!

Though major changes have yet to be announced, the parents-of-five did recently share that they are opening a coffee shop in town. “I can confirm that we will be breaking ground on our newest project, a coffee shop, early next month — our tentative plan is to open by year’s end,” Magnolia spokesman John Marsicano told People in mid-February on behalf of Chip and Joanna. “An official name for the coffee shop has not yet been announced, but we’re excited to share more details in the coming weeks!”

With the addition to the coffee shop — which is expected to be located a block away from the couple’s Magnolia Market at the Silos — the power couple is hoping that the new business will allow fans to explore the old grain mill while sipping on a hot, or cold, cup of joe. The coffee shop will also be joining the list of other businesses that Chip and Jo own on their Texas property, including Magnolia Table restaurant and Silos Baking Co.

It looks like fans are just going to have to patiently wait for more details from Chip and Jo regarding their newest projects  — either way, we can’t wait!

Closer Weekly reached out to Chip and Joanna’s rep for comment on this story and have yet to hear back.
