Though he has been bravely battling throat cancer for more than a year, Céline Dion's husband, René Angélil, has been the biggest supporter of his wife's decision to return to performing this August.
"He wants me strong. He wants to see me again because I'm his favorite singer. So, he wants me out there, and I have to say that I'm ready," the 47-year-old star told People during a backstage interview at last night's Billboard Music Awards.

"If there's going to be one person in the theater that night it's going to be him," she continued, referring to her return to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Aug. 27. "It's going to be for him. I want to make him see me strong again."
In March, the mother-of-three revealed René, 73, is now using a feeding tube after being diagnosed with throat cancer in December 2013. Shortly thereafter, Céline — who is mom to sons René-Charles, 14, and twins Eddy and Nelson, 4, with René — announced she was postponing her Las Vegas residency to care for her husband and children.

"The reason we did not come back before was because I wasn't emotionally ready to come back. My husband and my family needed me, they still do," she told People on Sunday, May 17.
"[René] is working really hard on his health," the 'My Heart Will Go On' singer — who married René in December 1994 — said of her husband before adding he is currently recovering from throat surgery.
