Just two days after Céline Dion‘s beloved husband René Angélil‘s death last January, the singer’s brother Daniel Dion also sadly lost his battle with cancer.
“René escorted my brother. It was perfect,” Céline, 48, admitted in a new interview. “René took Daniel under his wings and he said ‘You know, I’ll take good care of him.'”

“[Daniel’s death] was hard for my mom. I said, ‘You know what Mom? You gave birth and you took him back. You took his hand from the beginning to the end,'” Céline said of comforting her mother, Thérèse Dion, 89, following Daniel’s passing.
