Celebrity Moms Share Back-to-School Advice About Their Kids

Just because the new school season is about to start doesn’t mean that you have to be overwhelmed! For celebrity mom Jessica Alba, they have managed to find the best ways to get their kids ready for the new semester and make it into a fun activity.

“It’s fun because, for us, it’s a moment to kind of reflect on what they accomplished the year prior and what they want to accomplish this next year and what it means for them,” the Fantastic Four star gushed in an interview with the Huffington Post.

Jessica isn’t the only one! There’s a ton of celebrity parents who have come to love back-to-school season because they get to apply all of the great tips and tricks they they’ve learned throughout the years!

Jennie Garth

For her kids — Luca, 22, Lola, 16, and Fiona, 12 — Jennie Garth doesn’t mind buying school supplies in bulk!

“I need to get school supplies for three kids and, luckily, many of their needs — like pencils, pens and notebooks — overlap. So rather than buy each item à la carte, I try to buy them in bulk, especially if I see a sale,” she once admitted. “We have a closet of surplus school supplies that the girls dip into throughout the year whenever they need to replenish. And often, we’ll even donate extras to the teachers. They always appreciate the extra help, and it makes the girls feel good to help out.”

Chrissy Teigen

Going back to school can be really nerve-wrecking for kids, so Chrissy Teigen‘s daughter’s school suggested she make Luna, 3, a family scrapbook to bring to class. And guess what? Luna loved it!

“First week of school,” Chrissy wrote via Instagram. “They had us make a little family photo album she can look at when she’s sad or upset. She loves it. My heart.” So cute!

Jessica loves looking forward to the new school year! Thanks to her two daughters — Honor, 11, and Haven, 8 — they help each other get ready in the morning, which takes a lot off of Jessica’s plate.

“Honor actually sometimes does Haven’s hair and will do her own hair, which is sweet,” she said. “I didn’t have a sister, so that always makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.”

Jennifer Garner is another mom who’s a master at getting her kids ready for school! Her advice? Get friendly with other parents at your kids school because you never know when you might need them for help.

“I have a couple of celebrity mom friends that I go to for certain things that only they can — only we can talk about” she told Huffington Post. “But mostly I talk to my friends, my mom friends from Violet’s school. And we just gab away like anyone. But pretty much I hang up from one mom friend and call another.”

Natalie Morales

Natalie Morales‘ best advice for back to school shopping is to know your kid! When she recently sat down for an interview with Yahoo Finance’s My Three Cents, she admitted that even though she has mixed emotions about giving her kids an incentive to succeed in class, it’s not always bad practice.

“I think you want your kids to be motivated, because they want to get the good grades. But I will say it did help and it also was great for my back-to-school shopping,” she joked.
