So SweetCarrie Underwood Is Taking a Break From Music to Be a Mom to Son Isaiah

Carrie Underwood has motherhood on her mind!

The past American Idol winner announced on the 2017 Grammys red carpet that she plans to take a break from music to be a mom to her son, Isaiah, and a wife to her husband of six years, Mike Fisher.

“We just wrapped up the Storyteller Tour and I feel like my life right now, creatively, is kind of a blank space,” she told the People/Entertainment Weekly Network at the award show on Sunday, Feb. 12.

And she isn’t mad about it! “I’m really excited about that because you don’t know where you’re going to go,” Carrie, 33, continued. “I’m nervous because I want whatever I do next to be amazing, so I’m kind of taking a little break right now and being a mom and being a wife and going to see some hockey games to see my husband play. I’m kind of waiting for lightning to strike and go: ‘Okay, it’s time to get creative and work on new music!’”

Carrie married her pro hockey player hubby in 2010, and the two welcomed their soon-to-be two-year-old little boy in February 2015. The “Church Bells” singer addressed whether or not Isaiah would take after his famous dad and play hockey in the future.

“I’m pretty sure he’s going to play some hockey at some point in his life,” she said, laughing. “He’s about to turn two and we’ll see what happens after that! You never know. It’s up to the good lord.”

In a previous interview, the country star raved about her handsome hubby. “My husband is as wonderful as he is hot, and I feel like that’s rare,” she revealed. “He’s amazing. He’s such a great dad and he’s so supportive of what I do and I’m supportive of him and we just love our little family.”
