Things aren’t looking good for Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher. The couple is sadly heading for divorce, and it has a lot to do with the fact that she’s having difficulty getting pregnant with their second baby. Carrie and Mike are currently parents to a two-year-old son, Isaiah.

“Carrie’s been desperate to have a little brother or sister for Isaiah. But she’s been struggling to get pregnant. She was hoping Mike would become more involved in the process of possible IVF treatments, if it came to that,” a source told In Touch. “[Mike] isn’t always cognizant of Carrie’s feelings and needs.”

In 2015, the “Church Bells” singer opened up about how her marriage actually did change after she gave birth by hinting at the fact that it’s hard keep the spark going when you have a little one around. “Your marriage does change a lot when you have a baby — it’s a whole new dynamic,” she shared. “You have to make it a point to not lose yourselves as a couple. There’s so much going on it becomes easy to not focus on your marriage anymore.”

An insider previously revealed that the couple is currently at “their breaking point” after eight years of marriage. “She and Mike love each other, but like any couple, they’ve had challenges. So much so that at times, Carrie has been at the breaking point,” the source said.

Carrie figured their relationship would grow stronger after Mike’s decision to retire from the NHL, however, he recently decided he’d be returning to the ice. “She really thought that Mike’s retirement was going to give them the time they needed to work on making their family stronger. His decision put a huge strain on their marriage,” the insider shared.

If the two don’t work it out soon, the end result won’t be ideal for their family. The source added, “If Carrie and Mike continue to grow apart, it will surely end in divorce for them. And that would be heartbreaking.”
