Carrie Fisher Has Already Lost 40 lbs. in Preparation For “Star Wars” Role

Is Carrie Fisher planning to once again don Princess Leia’s famous gold bikini?

Though nobody knows for sure, the 57-year-old is getting in serious shape to reprise her role as the bun-wearing princess in the latest installment of the Star Wars franchise!

“She’s very excited about it,” legendary actress Debbie Reynolds, who also happens to be Carrie’s mother, said of her famous daughter, revealing Carrie’s already dropped 40 lbs. before filming has even begun.

“She’s been on a diet ever since, because you know they have to be up to par, so she looks terrific,” the proud mom told Extra‘s Mario Lopez. “She’s very excited, as we all are, because we all love Star Wars.”

Carrie joins fellow originals Harrison Ford (Han Solo) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) in the 2015 reboot, which will also welcome a slew of newcomers.

The actress hinted at her involvement in “Episode VII” last year when she told the Calgary Herald, “I’m glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape.”
