Carrie Ann Inaba has already added a new job to her resume to kick off the year, but is she on her way to adding a baby to her family, too?

The 51-year-old, who recently took over for Julie Chen as co-host on the CBS talk show The Talk, just revealed that she’s been thinking about adopting a child. The Dancing With the Stars judge recently sat down with People and talked about her next big decision in life. “I would love to be a mom,” Carrie Ann said. “I do still consider adopting. I have considered fostering to adopt.” Although, Carrie Ann understands the huge step that is and admits she’s nervous about possibly becoming a single parent.

“As a single woman in her 50s, I want to make sure that I will have the energy and that it’s fair to the child,” Carrie Ann told the outlet. “I saw the movie Instant Family and I’m probably going to take one of those [foster parenting] classes. It’s on my list!”

Carrie Ann also revealed that, at the moment, her dating life is down on her priority list. “This is the longest I’ve ever been single,” she said. “I’ve always gone from relationship to relationship.” Carrie Ann split from her fiancé, actor Robb Derringer, in 2017.  “Maybe I was afraid of being single,” she added. “But I realized that I have to go right towards what scares me the most.” Carrie Ann’s engagement to Robb wasn’t the only one she broke off as, in 2012, after being engaged for a year, she called off her engagement to Jesse Sloan, too.

“Sometimes people look at me sadly, like, ‘You poor thing,’ but it’s not that way at all,” Carrie Ann explained. “I was engaged to wonderful men. They just weren’t right for me.” And even with all that, Carrie Ann still feels she’s in a better spot in her life. “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” she said. “I’m really just focused on myself. And it’s like a peace I’ve never known before.”

It seems like big things are in store for Carrie Ann in 2019!
